Choosing a school
Whether your child is going to primary school for the first time or to high school: choosing a school can be a complex task. What do you need to take into account? On the website of the Dutch government, you will find more information about choosing an elementary school or a high school.
The costs of education
Parents do not pay tuition at the primary or secondary school of their children in the Netherlands. However, a contribution is sometimes asked of parents, for a school trip, for example. Higher education, after high school, does cost money. Your child can receive study financing for that from the Dutch government. Read more about study financing on the website of the Educational Services Department (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs, DUO).
Language courses for children
Children who do not yet live in the Netherlands or who want extra Dutch lessons can follow a(n) (online) course. Dutch for Children is, for example, an organization that offers language courses via Skype, and is mainly aimed at children of expats.
