DISK makes learning Dutch varied and fun! The online course for ISK students (International Transition Class) between the ages of twelve and sixteen is arranged around twenty exciting themes, such as ‘Appearance’, ‘In love’, and ‘Film’. Students choose their next steps from a menu composed by their teacher in the online environment, containing such things as a (picture) dictionary, pronunciation trainer, grammar module, and the module Lezen op 1F. These assignments are discussed and explained in class. With DISK, students work in groups, but work towards the target levels (A2 and B1) at their own pace.
DISK offers teachers a wide variety of ideas for their lessons, including motivational working methods and assessment models. Teachers can track the progress of all participants at the level of class, group or individual. All the materials in DISK have been selected based on level, purpose, theme and learning pathway (writing, reading, listening, and speaking). Teachers can use the material any way they want: top-down or bottom-up, systematically or flexible. The degree of control is up to them. The method is entirely digital, but most materials can be printed for in-class use. The teacher’s manual can be downloaded for free.
With the purchase of ten or more student accounts per year, institutions may request a free teacher’s account.
